Bilge Artuç’un mekan, ışık ve sınırlarla oynadığı video serisi, görsel algının yıkılışına işaret ediyor. Bir rüya alanı izlenimi veren mimari alanlara sızan ışık huzmeleri, bilinçaltının aydınlanmak isteyen köşelerine gönderme yaparken aynı zamanda yüzeylerdeki yansımaları ile birer soyut resim niteliğine bürünüyor. Erken dönem sinema örneklerinde görülen sis, yansıma, alev gibi öğelerle yaratılan bu rüya alemine dalan son derece gerçek bir el, oyunu bozuyor. Bir nevi sınır ihlaliyle gelen gerçekçiliğin soğukluğu aynı rüyaya tekrar dalabilmeyi zorlaştırıyor.

Artuç’un eli ampulü çevirerek Plato’nun mağarasındaki yansımaları adeta yok etmenin yanı sıra, soyut resmin öncüleri sayılan Malevich, Kandinsky ve Mondrian’ın isimlerini eğreti de olsa asılı oldukları duvardan çekip alıyor.

Bilge Artuç’s video series, in which she plays with space, light and boundaries, points to the collapse of visual perception. The beams of light that seep into the architectural spaces that give the impression of a dream space refer to the corners of the subconscious that want to be illuminated and at the same time take on the quality of abstract paintings with their reflections on the surfaces. A very real hand that plunges into this dream world, created by elements such as fog, reflection and flame seen in early cinema productions, disrupts the game. The coldness of realism that comes with a kind of boundary violation makes it difficult to slip back into the same dream. 

In addition to destroying the reflections in Plato’s cave by turning the light bulb, Artuç’s hand also pulls the names of Malevich, Kandinsky and Mondrian, who are considered the pioneers of abstract painting, from the wall on which they are hung, even if shoddily.
